Dayam! Given 15 years, he couldn't make it 1:1 scale? I mean, his only expense was materials. I saw a documentary the other day about primordial dwarfism. He might could find a driver there :gag:

woulda been less challenging. Plus he wanted a ferrari in his dining room. How much dining room do you think'd be left if it was go-kart scale?

I could fit a go-cart in my dining room - no problem :D
I think he wants to build another one 'cause he's going nuts sittin' there stairing at that thing thinkin', "If only I'd built it big enough to sit in. dumb! dumb! dumb!" :laugh3:

I'm not so sure this guy couldn't afford a Ferarri NOW. 12 years ago sure but I mean for cryin' out loud, this guy has engineering talent that I could never match. One would think his resume' sent to the right places could fetch him quite an enormous salary - hell, that model Ferarri is one helluva resume' in itself.
Can you imagine the money he has invested just in his shop? Ain't nuthin' cheap about a lathe sophisticated enough to make tiny valves, and mill the engine block.
Wonder what the model will fetch when he sells it...... Maybe he should just offer it up for trade - full scale for mini. Gotta be a money-bags Ferarri collector out there that would consider it.... afterall, that definitely is a 1 of 1 collector piece. :dunno:

Utterly Amazed... Of course it wasn't my dream to have a mini ferrari in my dining room. Perhaps several bikini clad hotties?? anyone suppose they can be manifested to meet my dream?

That is among the coolest things I have ever seen, bar none. More impressive than if he'd built a life sized one. Amazing.

A full size one will fit. We never use the dining room anyway.
Where's my sawzall!
It's like those guys that spend thousandds of dollars building RC airplanes, cars or whatever. for the money you have tied up in that you could have hte real thing - or at least a pilots license and a good chunk of a kit build in the case of the airplane.
Hmm, if he was really clever he'd make it RC and stick a video camera with transmitter about where the driver's head would be.

Well whatever you do don't hire this guy... you'll end up with a bunch of Malibu Barbies all ho'ed up with no where to go sitting on your dining room table.

I have to admit, that is so far the most amazing thing I have seen. to do that from photos and his own drawings is just plain awesome. I surprised that hes not been commisioned by somebody to make them one.

Just like I feel it is worth it for you to join as a Member of NAXJA (unless you are a child). I am not registering for a forum that I will likely never visit again... not fair to the owner. Sorry.

That forum makes me understand why NAXJA doesn't want/need any new sub-forums. :scared:

I've said it before when I was a paid up member and I'll say it again now that I'm not.
If you don't want participation from the public don't make the forums public.
Berating the public for not being a member on a publicly accessible forum is illogical. You could have made your point without sniping at a potentially returning member or new member. It would be a turn off for most. It could also be interpreted to mean a lack of professionalism for someone that doesn't know the huge efforts that you put into this site.
Anyway, go look if you want, or not. Whatever.

For me, It's the shortest chase possible resulting in the most meat on the table.
Consider - what would the scale factor have cost him? I still think, secretly, deep down inside, he's bummed. I betcha the next one is bigger.

brings a new meaning to "desktop dyno"
thats amazing. fuel injection, 24 valves, flat 12. tach works, functional gearbox.
anybody can make a kit car, but thats not what he was going for...he truly wanted to make a model, i think he is very happy with his work.
