A week after I had a RE 3.5" lift kit installed on my '96, the windshield developed a crack from the bottom directly in front of the passenger seat. It goes straight up about 10", then turns towards the driver's side. It's been growing about an inch or two a day. The evening before I noticed it, we'd had an ice storm that left a coating of ice on everything, and the temperature plummeted to zero overnight. When I got to work, I noticed the crack. Now I notice very slight popping sounds around my windshield area sometimes when turning or hitting bumps in the road.
Did the stress of the lift cause the crack, or was it just a coincidence?
