I believe i need to replace my REAR MAIN seal and I was wondering if someone knew who could replace that for me in SD or OC and if not then does someone know where to take my Jeep, and around how much is it going to cost? Thanks

Labor = $400.00 plus

Should be about 4 hours labor for a manual, 5 hours for an automatic.

My shop would charge $450 for an auto and $350 for a manual.

well i live in san diego. I was just looking to get a price, and also someone with some experience. I need it done. Im just not sure when yet. thanks guys for the help.

Before you go replacing it, are you absolutely sure it's the rear main?

Remember, a leaking valve cover gasket and a bad oil filter adaptor are equally as common to go bad on the 4.0, and both will also mock a rear main leak. However, these two are MUCH easier to replace than the rear main.

You should also consider getting a new oil pump in there while you have the oil pan off.
