I can't believe I'm the first to post this, but I can't seem to find any other posts anouncing it, so am I the first to say that the article about BOTWII-Colorado is OUT!? I got my mag last night and as I was flipping, I came across a full page pic of Matt directing and his WIFE driving! :) I think the photographer did a great job of getting a pic of just about every Jeep there in the magazine, but he did get a few facts messed up. Darn cool though! I'm in there, my Jeep is in there, my dad is in there, and my son is in there! Check it out! Jeff

So Matt... so how does the arrangement work? does your wife let your drive on the easy parts of the trail only? :)

EVERYONE knows that Jenni is the force to be reconned with in that family. She a big ticket in that petit body.
Congrats, I wish I could have joined you this year. Maybe next.
Missed you on Dusey-Ershim last weekend.
Are you going to be in Moab this year??

Watch yourself Remi. I might just have to spot her right over the top of your cute little jeep.
We missed you too Mil although I here that little ride you took was a once in a lifetime deal. We didn't make Dusy either. We started harvest early so hopefully we'll get done early. We have a cabin reserved at slickrock. Hopefully we can keep the reservations this year.

Cool....Fruit harvest of any kind is just insanity. Dad and my brother shook over a half million pounds of tart cherries in 11 days. Hope you get out on the rocks in Moab in October.
Don't forget to wake up your kids on the hard parts this year.

You ask anybody on here that has met her & wheeled with her. I can garantee you they will say, she will go where I spot her without hesitation. What color is your rig again?

Harvest is fun... We're putting out 30 truck & trailer loads of wine grapes to the wineries daily. My record last year was 50 loads in a day. Will also do 10-12 loads of almonds a day. We start to pickup the almonds on Thursday. In our spare time we get to cut & bale 600 acres of alfalfa. Just for giggles will throw in some pistachios since we don't have enough going on, but that won't kick in until we're worn out & tired later in September. Wait I haven't mentioned cotton yet... :wow:

Well... reading my husbands post- you'd think I follow him around like a lost puppy. Yes- I do trust his judgement while on the trail, but I also notice that gets me on 3 wheels ALOT!
No really, I have had fun on these trips. I even got another wife to drive for a few minutes.
Don't worry guys- I promise to never let anyone know that women can do this too.

I love this quote:
Watching the NAXJA members' four-wheeling abilities was a pleasure and a learning experience, and their comradery and trail skills are exemplary of how things should be run in large groups. If a Jeeper needed help, there were plenty of helping hands and minds to work the situation out.
So how about some of those that participated put together a short article or writeup and I will permanently post it up on NAXJA???????

I already did a bit of an article, but it isn't so short! :) I did shorten it a bit for my local Jeep clubs newsletter though. I believe I posted it on here awhile ago. If you want it again, I can send you a Word copy of it. Jeff

YELLOW! I better not find my rig flattened by Matt's rig with Jenni at the wheel! :D
Matt and Jenni, whatever Remi tells you, just remember that there's no way he's gonna get 35's under his by October  - so don't flatten anything with those size tires and we'll all be happy! :D
(Sorry Remi - had to go there ;) )

:) :) Too funny.
The grapes are dumped into open topped "grape" tanks that are bolted down by a hinge on flat beds on sets of doubles. Once at the winery the truck drives under a hoist that hooks the tank & dumps it into the crusher. No vans involved.
Jes,
They actually have a pic of you wheeling!! Jeni was actually offended by the "nervous little peek" coment put in her caption.

Paul,
To my knowledge there are no cashews grown in the US. Theres something about the processing creating extemely hazardous waste. Supposedly the actual hull of a cashew is the problem? Not real positive on the details, but this is what I've heard.

That's quite interesting Matt, but not what I meant by "got cashews". I was referring to Jeni's, how can I put it, testosterone level on the trail.

I think to be fair to those of us who have yet to meet any of you...you should match screen personas to real names. I have managed (by this thread) to get a few...but I need a list. I'm kinda old fasion in that I still like to relate names to faces!!
I.E. Remi is Ketchup-jar and has the yellow crew cab.
Matt is the guy who walks next to the white XJ with the cool rack.

Yes Remi will be ketchup when I see him, but no he doesn't have the crew cab yellow rig. That rig is Richards (Goatman). Remi did not attend this trip. He's just a loud mouth living through the rest of us vicariously.
Gee Jeff, thanks for pouring the salt.
Paul, you SoCal boys have been out in the sun too long. Either I need more sleep, which is probably true, or your sense of humor is way off. I don't get it, what do cashews have anything to do with anything? I thought you were referring to the other nuts we grow?

Matt, you're right, I certainly didn't mean to be rubbing salt. It was just something I noticed. The pic on the web only shows Jenni whereas you WERE right next to her. I think you two are doing real well with getting pics in the mags though wether she's driving or not though. Jeff

We're considering another run in the AZ and SoCal desert, maybe in late March or April. We really want to include Surprise Canyon as part of the next trip, but that access issue probably won't be resolved yet by then. We still want to run the Indy trails in CO, to shut up those no-show CO boys :D , and we'd run the Montrose trails again anytime, but we think the CO boys should come to us this time around........IF they're up to it. :)
There are some newer, bad ass trails in AZ that we can run, plus maybe hit a trail in Parker, and then maybe a couple of trails in JV again. Those of us here in CA run JV regularly, but we'll still go there anytime, and it would be great for those of you from out of the area who haven't run there yet. Maybe One Ton would even make it......NAW!!!! :D

Actually the CO gang likes to keep the best trails for themselves, you will have to wait at least a couple years before we show you Indy or Carnage Canyon .
