pros and cons of d60 w/ central axle disconnect?

I'm not sure that I'd do it if I were you. Dodge Front 60's with CAD are pieces of crap. I have a couple buddies that have them under their dodge trucks,(obviously) granted there is a lot more weight, but they really don't hold up to any kind of power and abuse. 1 buddy had 60K on his, had to rebuild it from end to end, was just wore out. About $1,500 later it's ok.

ok now i honestly dont know anything about dana 60's, but i am somewhat familiar with disconnect axles. Obviously they use two piece axle shafts in the front with the collar/motor to activate them. I have seen that the disconect dana 30's can replace the two piece axle shaft with a one piece from a newer axle and eliminate the motor/collar deal somehow ( I think by putting a plate over where the motor is on the axle), so maybe you could do the same. Or your other option is the Posi-Lock as stated before. But keep in mind im an ignorant 17 year old so you might want to get some feedback from someone else on this.
