Would it be worth buying an aftermarket performance chip or module or tuner for my stoker engine? Or does anyone reflash these ECU's for better performance out of the stroker? Just looking for a little more power.. 1997 Sport 4.6 stroker

DON'T buy the JET performance PCM. I recently removed mine 'cause it was causing the rev limiter to cut in at only 4500rpm. Now my stroker goes all the way to 5250.
The stock ECU and the correct size injectors will work fine but if you really want to optimize the fuel and timing curves, get the Unichip and have it custom mapped with your Jeep on a load-type dyno.

Ya, Im another one in the anti-jet chip camp. I bought a used stage 2, and it actually made my xj bog down on the lower end. I took it out and sold it on ebay.

Thanks. So the only other alternatives to adjusting your fuel system is with an adjustable map sensor or the apexi kit? Is there any tuner out there that I havent found yet that will allow me to adjust a number of things?

The hypertech does the best job of tuning "other things".

Nope, the Hypertech will only work on a stock or near-stock 4.0. The best solution is a piggyback programmeable computer e.g. Unichip that you can have custom mapped for fuel and timing on a load-type dyno.
