broken RE main eye leaf spring

Can you weld a leaf spring back together?

Dunno what happened but started goin up a lil hill and POP leaf spring main eye snapped. I've got a schweet hole in the frame above the hangar now so looks like ill be extending my frame plating all the way acrossed the rear section of the unibody to the rear bumper mounts. Will welding the spring make it loose all its tensile qualities? IE no more spring in my spring? I've got pic but I'm on a pda so I can't post....

Yes, welding that spring is something you'd only want to do to get off the trail and home.

The spring is shot and you might as well buy some new ones.

Sweet, how long did that take though? Cause part of me just wants to run down to my local spring shop and have them make me a new main leaf and re arch and mabey add a leaf or two to my current packs..........

And does it matter that this spring is second hand? Or do I have to be a verified customer?

Sorry, but I believe the Warranty is non-transferable, but I could be wrong.

I emailed pics of my broken leaf to RE and had a new one within a week (UPS Ground).
