The Chapter logo was voted on some time ago and the logo listed as number 2 was the winner. Link to the poll below:

The were a few concerns regarding the Jeep looking "cartoonish" and a few other minor situations.

Mike, the designer, went back to the drawing board and cleaned the image up a little and made a couple of minor adjustments.

I'd like to thank Brian (AzRockRunner) and his friend Mike for stepping up and putting in the time and effort to get this project done. :patriot:

We will be moving forward to get a printer set up and will keep all posted.

cool I guess...........I still say you managed to use the worst possible bumper and roof rack and the spare on the roof is quite hill billy. I really dont think its done yet. IMHO, also loose the white steering rod.

Working with silk screening I feel it is far from being ready to print

Although i cannot comment on weather it is good for "print" per the "Silk Screening" guidelines, Overall, I think this is an awesome logo.

I'd love to put it on my rig.

oh... and having a tire on the rack, doesn't make you a "Hill Billy" so :twak:

I don’t know if there is any hurry in establishing an arizona chapter logo or not. I think that everyone certainly appreciates the effort being made and forward progress is definitely happening. I would like to read more comments from everyone good or bad about this design. I am not in the decision making progress, just wondering what people think.

I see the design has some red against red background that blends together if you take a few steps back away from your computer screen. Couple that with the outer red banner and there is a lot of, well, red. I would rather see more earth tones used.

I think the nomenclature would look better if it were all capital letters.

I’m not sure if we really need to define the tie rod. Everyone has one. It almost looks like it is actually the drag link coming down from the pitman arm on a right-hand steer vehicle. It doesn’t extend far enough to the right side to attach to the knuckle. XJ’s are more defined by the steep looking angle of the drag link anyway and that’s what it looks like, only backwards.

I don’t think we need to define the diff cover bolts. I haven’t seen anybody painting theirs white and the bolt pattern doesn’t look right.

The tire on the top raises the cog of the decal considerably, lol. I like the lowest profile possible when designing modifications to a 4wd.

Last is my little peeve about the www. It would look better without it. We all know NAXJA is on the world wide web. Back in the twentieth century it was trendy and needed.

I like very simple designs and have never cared much for decals so don’t take too much of what I mentioned to heart. I think the best decal is the least amount of decal.http://www.dakotacom.net/~jeepster/tipshades.gif

I guess at this point we still need some more adjustments to the logo.

I spoke to Brian and at this point he is going to ask the designer to remove the tire from the roof rack, remove the lights from the roof rack, remove the white drag link, remove the the white bolt heads.

Post up other comments or concerns so we can continue to move forward on the design process.

We're making progress!!

I think the logo will look much better with the changes that you speak of. I think the whole top rack can go... But I am happy with it the way it is, so its not a biggie.

PICKY PICKY PICKY!!!!!!! SHEEESH!!!!!!!

Just kidding. I spoke to the guy doing the computer part of my design and he will remove the roofrack and tire and white bolt heads and tie rod bar.

I will also have him make a copy for us with a white jeep to see what it looks like. I agree that it kinda blends, but we are trying to keep the colors down also. So if it looks good white, that would work since we are already using white.

I am not sure I like the capital letter idea, becouse we dont want to SCREAM it out there. LOL

Anyway, I hope to have something up in the next few days.

I like them both but I still think my favorite is the red XJ. The red one seems to be coming out of the image better and the white one looks like it dont belong.

White one, the red one you cant see at all if you step even 10 feet, its non legible

print em both correct size, tack to a wall and step back.

I didnt vote in the thread because I didnt want any of the designs.

Take a look at the AZVJC logo, the AZXJ logo, and now our's.

THEY ARE ALL THE SAME.

I like representing AZ and all, but maybe something more unique is in order...something that incorporates mountains and a saquaro...

Just some thought from a Toy guy though...

The only like part is the state flag which should be a common part of the design,

Lets em know we are from AZ from a distance

Why not incorporate something with the shape of the state, like option #3, and a cacti, or something with mountains/mining/desert related in it?

Hell, throw the copper star if you want, but we don't need the damn red and gold stripes!

Here is part of the reality. 2 days ago, a rendition of the logo came out and there were requests to make some changes. I asked folks for suggestions. No one mentioned the flag or otherwise. I posted what changes the designer was asked to make. See the link below.

The person is doing this work for free, he is not a NAXJA member, nor a Jeeper, he is a web designer and a friend of a current NAXJA member. My concern is I don't believe he is going to continue to make changes and redesign this thing for free forever and I don't think it's right to expect him to.

At this point, if there are serious concerns, post up your rendition of the logo and when they are all in we'll put them up for a vote.

I think the logo with the white XJ is what has evolved out of feedback over time. I like the contrast and it seems like white is a very common color for all vehicles in AZ (I wouldn't mind seeing a version in Yellow as well :) ) I'd be very happy accepting the white XJ logo as is. If someone wants to propose and alternate design, spend a little time working somnething upon the computer, submit it and see what people think. Some of the recent feedback seems to suggest a re-design of the entire logo rather than a refinement of the existing design.

The logo will not please everyone. I would't worry about things to much. So far most of the different logos have looked good. If you are concened, post up the chosen logo and give everyone a date that they have to make final comments on. After that, decide what changes to make and then post the final version and call it good.

People are doing great work on this, and I am thankful for all of it.

The white jeep makes the logo look cleaner. I generally recognize that unless I am willing to do the work, then the efforts of those doing it should be acknowledged. Good job, I think it is comming along.

Not that I mind changing things but the truth of the matter is that the logo won the vote, and not by 1 vote either. So, I am all for calling it final with the wite XJ.
And NO I am not just saying that becouse I designed it. I just think that if we try to please 100% it will NEVER happen. This logo was voted on, and won. We made changes to make it cleaner and I agree that the changes are good ones.
Now lets quit Hasta and call it done. Then we can move forward and get something printed up.

There was a vote on a similar but less acceptable rendition of this logo and that logo was accepted. Then the logo was adjusted and cleaned up without changing the original layout, which has made it more acceptable to some of the dissenting folks.

Did anyone notice that when you took away the white bolt pattern on the diff that the dif and whole undercarriage (except for the white backward tie rod) all but disappeared in the dark? lighten up the background under the jeep if you keep the all black undercarriage. I thought the white diff bolts accented the diff. I have an aircraft tie rod so makes me think of mine when I saw the white one standing out. Like mine with the sun shining on it when I comes up over a steep one.

Keep the AZ Flag colors. Keep out the cactus.
