This rig belongs to a guy down my street. According to him he is building a serious off road rig. Yeah right. I don't wanna rain on his parade but look at these pics. And yeah those are the stock rear leafs. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y261/amberdougschin/Dakotafull.jpg

looks to me like he's not done yet, judging by the welded links in the front, wouldn't be a bad rig if the rear springs were set up with more spring and less bracket and he didn't have to run that pinion angle in the front, at least the inner c's were turned properly. i like seeing unique 4x4's and that one could be a good one with a little more work.

He keeps pulling his front apart saying it handles odd. Gone through like 3 sets of springs. had what looked to be a 6 inch spacer in the front before he pulled em this last time.

I got a set of stock XJ coils with about 60K on them... ask him if he wants to buy them??
The rear springs look like they might buckle on the first flex. SERIOUS blocks going on there!

Those rear brake lines aren't going to last very long.

Yeah he took the front coils out for whatever reason. The thing that bug me the most other than the rear leaf pack is the angle his front axle has been rotated. I don't wanna know what will happn if that front end comes all the way up. With an angle that severe, nothing good can happen.

Excuse the pun but...
I would not want to be within a block of that truck in motion!
That front end is asking for an "endo"

Are those spring pads on the 9" even welded?

Probably not. The U bolts are probably tightened down so much, he thinks it won't go anywhere.
What a booty fab POS.

I took a good look at those. As far as I can tell they are not. I will ask him a few more questions next time i see him.
