On my 96 there is a light sensor in between the sun visors up on the roof. What the heck is this thing for? I know in the newer GMs they have them up on the dash to control the daytime running lights but the XJ doesn't have DRLs so what are they used for?

I think is is an infra-red sensor for the key fob.
