Hey all,

Those that were on the inaugural run probably remember I was having a terrible time communicating via the CB. My neighbor was good enough to bring his equipment over yesterday evening and my antenna system read out "SCREWED".

Make a long story short, there was a short to ground in my antenna system. At that point it was searching with the VOM. I found it at the plug that goes in to the radio. Replaced the components and it appears the radio was not damaged. Still need a serious radio check but think all survived.

With all that went on during that run I think it is really necessary for all to have a CB to communicate.

Well, Brian was good enough to swing by and give me a radio check. Appears my output circuit is whacked. I could pick up his transmit from a good distance away but I've got no output. Looks like a new radio is in the near future.

thanks Brian!! :patriot:

Hey, I was without a CB also and after surfing I've found that this is about the best place to get a new one ...Sparkys CB Shack is your 1 Stop CB Shop for CB Radios & 10 Meter Export Radios (http://www.sparkyscbshack.com/home.html)

Good prices, I'm ordering this one to mount above the rear view mirror.:

If your looking for a place locally to hook you up, I HIGHLY recommend Comm Tech. There out behind TTT truck stop. They hooked me up with a nice Uniden radio, Fiberglass antenna, side mount and custom cable for about 120 out the door. The radio was also peaked and tuned to perfection.

I had this done and now I dont have to worry about anything anymore.

Also, the side mount I got has NO exposed antenna cable, so nothing to get caught and ripped.

Good luck.
