I got a dana 44 out of an 87 XJ and I was wondering if it was just a straight bolt on affair on my 94 XJ or is more complicated then that.

as long as you don't have ABS then it will bolt right in

have you tried searching? it's your friend. And the answer is yes and no, it will bolt on, but you may need to do some brake line adjusting.

I do have ABS so does that mean I will have to lose it when I do the Swap

yes. You will probably just have to pull a couple plugs and at least cut the lines back.
