hey folks..I did it bassackwards....i put the tires on, and I will chop/lift around them, but I got them on... check me out....3.5" procomp lift with 2 " spacers frontr and sonoma leafs and 2" block in the rear. I would have waited 4ever to buy the right lift for it. Anyway I decided to lift/chop the truck around the tires and go from there. Everything is stock except for the track bar The rides sucks, and it feels like its gonna fall apart on the roAD....NO SHIMS, no SYE, I'll replace it when it breaks.....

Next, I will attempt to fab up a set of control arms....or long arms...for better articulation....doesn't seem all that complicated if you have the resources (steel) and a half decent welder....I know I'm gonna catch it for this but who cares....

you can post pictures. all you do is put img address \img with the img's in brackets [ ] to be able to post a picture. the only PITA is you have to post the pics at your own place.

In the window to make a new post, there is a picture of a little mountain in the toolbar at the top. Click that. Then, copy the web location of your picture and paste it in the pop up. Click okay, and then we'll all be able to flame you. Did I say flame? I meant "motivate". :D

Shouldn't take too long, unless you just mall crawl w/ it.

Why is it, that instead of really learning to drive, everyone goes straight to 35" Where's the challenge:dunno: To each his own. Good luck with it.

i know, it is worth it to me to build it with the right components before having the meat slabs bolted to my hubs. i have a jeep worthy of 33" tires but won't have the $ till next summer for the tires, because i spent all my $ building it. so im stuck with 31" super slicks. ahh well. and yea the ride will definately suck until you get some solid control arms in there. ironically the track bar is the only thing i on my front end that IS stock for my 5" lift. i just re-drilled for it so the axle is center. ehh well..

Well since I went through all the trouble so make em fit. I will give up my specs.

1996 Sport/120000 miles
3" Procomp Lift(6 years old)
Recently added 2" spacer in front and blocks in rear with sonoma leafs.
Added a new Adj tracbar upfront too.
Chopped fenders in front and rear
Approx 5" of lift maybe 5.5 in the rear.

I gotta break on the tires and got sick of looking at them in the garage. So I put them on as best I could...Yeah, axles are coming, but not until I break the ones under there now. My dough isnt as long as some of the guys on here, so don't be hating.

check this out....if you look at your pics in photobucket, there are 3 little boxes underneat with "addresses".

the bottom on says: "IMG". now copy what's in there into your post and it'll look like this

"IMG]http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h195/slaisebam/DSCF0721.jpg[/IMG]" (i put the apostrophy there so it wouldn't show the pic.)

now if you just copy that link without putting the apostrophy like i did, then this happens when you hit submit.

Hey Ryan, perhaps you should search around for Goatman's mid-arm 3-link.
I have seen the light and WILL be seriously considering doing that setup, but with Currie J-arms.

I like my arms. and do like the looks of goatmans setup, all around. but anything is better than stock arms with 5" of lift.

The locking nuts were accidentally left at home when I drove on post to put the tires on. As for the arms, I will put together a set myself, using tips from a few writeups I've seen here.

The bumper is from warrior products....they have yet to make a matching rear...only a hundred bucks....The fenders (rear) will be cut a little more, and the front will go up about 2 more inches before its all said and done. The Sonoma leafs ride as well or better than the Procomp add a leaf that was in for the last 6 years. The block may stiffen it up a bit though. I only used the bottom 3 leafs added to my uppermost stock leaf.
