Nice vid. I figured on the bike, the F1 is amazing.

Yep, you can't mess with F1. Those cars accelerate & stop so fast. If you've never seen one run in person, you are missing out. They are simply amazing.

they say an Indy car can run upside down( if in a tunnel) once it reaches about 120+ mph, max. grip, i'm sure a F-1 is even better. + it has a lot of horsepower, no surprise the car won.

I think my jeep could take all three. If no one was driving them.

RobOne of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Since the day I saw one in person almost three years ago, I have watched every single F1 race either live in the middle of the night or on tape the next day. Truly addictive.

That boat was lame. A drag boat would have been better competition...
...although they have their downside :)

That F1 was running bad too, he was having problems. I loved when he was even with the bike, then he just was like "see ya" and took off. The end was really crazy too when he just accelerates off after the donut.
I watched another movie that I saw on the side, it was F1 Perished Heros, really moving, very sad.

I think I heard the narrator say that he got into the stall preventer. You don't want to stall that thing - you'd need somebody to run out there with a startermotor. While F1 have to be able to get out a tight corner and haul a$$ down the straight, I think maybe the driver was not used to dragging.
The idea of drag racing an F1 reminds me an article I read in Car'n'Track or Road'n'Driver (one of the top end car mags) about NASCAR technology. The funny part of the article was where they were whining that they couldn't turn a decent 1/4-mile. Guys - it's not a dragster. If you want to turn a 1/4-mile go talk to NHRA, not NASCAR :twak:

While F1 have to be able to get out a tight corner and haul a$$ down the straight, I think maybe the driver was not used to dragging. The driver was Jenson button who now has over 100 F1 races to his record, and when you consider that all F1 races are standing starts, it would seem he has plenty of experience in accelerating from a stop. The cars are simply so powerful that they're traction limited until about 100 mph, the point in the video where the F1 car pulls away so quickly from the bike.

Ya, and also where it says at the end when he goes to do the donuts, "this is what would have happened if he had full power from the start"

Not that the boat had much of a chance but that water was so choppy that it was bouncing all over and losing speed.

Well, no ones going to put an idiot into an F-1, so yeah, it's more likely the narator was just trying to explain why the car didn't jump off the line. It sounded like he was pointing out a mistake on the driver's part. Still, the whole thing would be less silly if they had put a dragster against a drag bike and a drag boat.

yeah, would have been better if was an all out drag boat. 75 mph is fast in a boat he said? bah!! The boat races used to come here every year, and they had a drag boat here that he was the only one is his class,so he just ran it to put on a show for the crowd. If I remember right, they said he was doing over 200 mph by the time he got to the end of the course(straight line). Sounded like he opened it up,and was at the end of the course within a couple seconds. they interviewed him after the run,and asked him how much time he had to correct it if it started going off course? his answer? "you point it straight and pray!!" he said if it would have gotten out of shape, there isn't enough time to correct and if he tried anything sudden,he would be doing the flying end over end stuff that boat racing videos are made of. that was awesome!!

Yep, I got into it about 12 years ago when I was in Japan. My buddies girl got tickets for us @ $600 a piece :scared: Luckily she covered the 4 tickets. :sunshine: I became instantly hooked. I followed Michael Schumacher, & Jacques Villeneuve. I stopped watching 2 seasons ago. Just Too many Schumacher wins & no time. But hey there seams to be a little more competition now ;) season starts March 18, I think I'll be watching again. Thanks Speed channel :)
