hey, i'm looking for weld-on heim joints. 1/2" is what i'm looking for to custom fab some swaybar d/c's..... found some @ McMaster-Carr, but i was wondering if anybody else makes them?

Heims are all threaded. Just get threaded ones and use them, you can butt weld them to the end of your material, then put a sleeve over top the threads and the junction, and weld the sleeve in place.
Seems like alot of trouble, Discos aren't that expensive. I'd just buy some.

using the jolints i found at McMaster-Carr, i can build a set for about $40...using the original swaybar link, sawing the pin off the top and the eye off the bottom, welding on the joints, and cutting down and threading a set of hitch pins for the lower mountin point, then use a piece of 2x2 box w/ the bottom sawed out for the mount to the s/b...

Sounds complicated.
I made some using 1/2" female heim joints and 1/2" all thread rod, pretty simple. Lower mount is a pin. Upper mount is a U shaped section of tubing for the heim to mount is, welded at the bottom of the stock threads, then mounted to the sway bar with a couple of washers and a 10mm wing nut.
You can also just weld in a section to make the stock links longer, use a pin on the bottom and a 10 mm wing nut on top, very simple, and quick and easy to remove and install.
Here's a pic of my links.......
