I normally deal with travelocity. Does anyone have any other recommendations? So far, my best bet is 293$ from ATL-LAX roundtrip.

kayak.com - just gives you prices and where to buy - doesn't sell you tickets

This is how I do it for business trips, Louisville isn't a hub, so I usually know who flies where for the best prices, and just go straight to their site. but 293 round trip ATl-LAX ain't bad at all.

Thing is though, my aunt doesn't want to fight LAX traffic to pick me up. She told me to try and fly into ontario or john wayne.......

Is there a shuttle or anything you can take? Public transportation? Never been to LAX so I don't know what is there, but there has to be some form of public transportation.

I don't blame her, JW is a good one and not such a madhouse. I'd check each airline then purchase direct from them.

United runs a shuttle flight from LAX to Ontario. Its about a 13 minute flight. I have used it a BUNCH of times.

When is the target date and where does your aunt live? Arrangements may be able to be made.
I for one live twenty minutes from LAX.

San Demis (go bill and ted!)
Plan is to leave on OCT 19, and be back on the 28th.
I will be flying out of ATL...... and I KNOW it's a bitch and a hastle there, so I can only imagine LAX.

Whatever you do, don't fly with American. Just. Don't.

I always fly United or Delta, though that speaks nothing to the price.

John Wayne = $$$$$
Ontario = $$$$
LAX = $$$
People Complain (Or Complane???) about LAX... I find it quite easy to fly in and out of...
But if someone has to come get you from the IE/Pomona area... that is quite a drive...
I found flights from Air Tran (on their website) from 159 from LAX to ATL and 144 from ATL to LAX... thats $303 round trip ($50 off best at travelocity)... with the money you save from going to LAX you could afford a shuttle home and not have to wait on anyone...
Good luck...

I never complain about LAX. The problem isn't once you get there, its getting there that is the problem.
One point to remember, Air Tran is Valu Jet. Just changed their name after sticking that DC-9 in the swamp.

This is very strange:
one-way ticket from Birmingham, AL to Ontario, CA is $170 on Delta's website, which connects through Atlanta. To book just the second leg costs over $500. One way. I could theorize all day why, but the end result is that having a major hub like Atlanta as a terminus sucks.
here's something that will find who flies and when into ONT: http://timetables.oag.com/fe_tt//ont/default.asp

On my way to ONT, I have gotten to go to Denver,Las Vegas,Dallas ,LA,Seattle,and Atlanta. My place of departure? Chicago-O'Hare. You just can't get more major hub than that.
