89 yj d-35 axel question

I need to know if they had c-clips or were non c-clip on the 89 yj's anyone know or can point me where to find the info?

I also have a 89 yj and it is the non c clip axle.

PRE-1990 yj's have no c-clips.....

My neighbor had an 89 YJ that I welded the spider gears. It had C-clips.

guess ill have to pull a drum and look this weekend.

that is correct....some D35 on XJ's are C-Clip, and others are not. Only way to be sure is to pull the differential cover and look!

MY 89 YJ D-35 does not have c-clips, neither did my 87 XJ. There are diferences at the brake backing plate end of the axle as well, but I'm not sure if they're obvious without starting to take things apart

im gona pull a drum and look for the retaining flange that is only there on a non c-clip axel from what ive been able to read thats the most obvious difernce
