Last night I called my buddy Oscar who guides on the Gunnison and the Taylor Rivers to see what was cookin' over there. He described the fishing in the catch and release section as "stellar" during the last few weeks. So I call for a substitute teacher and start getting my gear together.

Would you believe that I was up all night, hanigng out on the toilet? I got up this morning at 5:30 and felt horrible. Slight fever, nausea, aches, the works. Happy friggin' birthday. So I'm outta the house by 7ish. Sippin' Sprite and eatin' a hearty breakfast of Saltines. I figured I'd start feeling better in BV. In BV I had already stopped twice on the side of the road. I been dreaming of those fat fish for weeks. So regretfully, I decided to turn around. I haven't felt this bad since I was a kid. It's 85* in my house and I'm wearing a down coat. I AM ENRAGED!!!!!!!

I'm glad I had the sense to turn around when I did. 101 fever when I stumbled in the house. So I didn't get to fish AGAIN and I woke up to more snow...and more alone time in the bathroom. A bidet would actually be nice.

Maybe it worked out for the best this time. Heather said the school went on lock down at about 9 and stayed that way until about 2. They had the building surrounded. I guess the police were there, the Sheriffs, members of some SWAT, and the military brought up a bunch of dogs. They searched each locker and student individually. Did anyone see it on the news? I guess there was quite a crowd outside.
