How much lift could I expect to get if I used 2.5" TJ's in an XJ?

actually more than 1.5
I did this the other way around i put stock coils from a XJ on my TJ. I only gained about .25 of an inch. I expected around an inch, but only got a quarter of one. So you will get at least 2 inches.

It depends on the condition of your current springs.
