I'm going to regear to 4.56's soon and I'm curious if I need standard or reverse rotation gears for the D30 and what I need for the 8.25 I have in the rear.

I’m also going to regear, for the front I have a hi-pinion so I’m getting reverse cut gears. For the rear are standard cut. On a 98 D30-8.25 4.56 gearing.

If thats the case, you have a low pinion D30 and will require a standard cut gear set.
Unless you have a four cyl. XJ, you will also need to get a carrier for the lower gear sets for the D30.
The 8.25 wont need a new carrier and I dont think they make a high pinion 8.25 so thats pretty simple.

Sorry, shoulda mentioned I have a 93...
AW4, 4.0HO, 27spline 8.25 rear and the D30 front.
