This is the official, non-NAXJA un-organized invite for the annual February trip to Moab over Presidents weekend.

We will be down Late Friday the 16, and coming home on the 19(Monday).

Trails will be announced as the draws date gets closer(and we get the cross section of those wanting to run with us):worship:

I'll keep everyone up to date, as the time gets nearer..
BTW, we are staying at the Red Stone Inn, across the street from the Bighorn Inn, and a block south of Micky Dee's..

Traditionally, President's Day and post-Halloween have been my most enjoyable runs to Moab. I'm planning on being there, in a TJ or XJ... whichever I own by then. To all you naysayers, "Buy a coat."

I'm going to be there from Friday night to Monday afternoon. I'm staying at the Sleep Inn at the south end of town.

I'm up for any trail. What trails have you got planned? Who's all going?

Just though I'd bring this up since its less than two weeks away.

Our family should be going, probably Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon. We will be staying at the Riverside Inn on the north end of town. We'll probably be running our generic 31" AT's on the TJ, and doing some less savage trails this time. Some friends and their parents are staying at the hotel with us.

I too am game for whatever. I wouldn't mind doing a really scenic easy trail this time... it's been quite a while. There's a possibility we will no longer have the TJ by this weekend, and will instead have another XJ. It will have zero body armor and stock gears, with about a 3" lift and 31's.

Lets hear some ideas.

I will probably be on fins n things on Sat, and hells revenge on Mon. Not sure what on Sunday. But I think we are still open to suggestions on Sat. I am kind of looking for a easier trail on Sat. for the test run (first time out since install) of my RK 3 link.

Cliffhanger was another trail on my mind. I've been on that trail twice and have never accually finished it. I've always made it up to the overlook of Poison Spider and turned around. Does anyone know if the trail has washed out since they filled in all the obsticals?

I think we should meet at the market at 9:00 am no matter what trail we run.

Since no one else has any input this, it looks like we will be doing this...

Trail: Cliffhanger
Meeting spot: City Market parking lot
Time: 9:00 AM Saturday morning

Post up if you are planning on being there, so we know how many to wait for.

We can decide what we want to do on sunday when we get together. Unless anyone wants to discuss it now.

I'll be the one in the ass-ugly camo XJ.

See you all, 9:00 AM Sat. at City Market. Ran Cliff Hanger last year in the AM, and a 2nd trail in the PM. I'm game for any trail that the group wants to run. This will be my 4th Presidents' Day week end in Moab. Had lots of sun shine on all trips. Hope this time is no exception.

We're en route to Moab as I type this, just passed Wellington. We will be staying at the Riverside Inn, on the north end of town. Cliffhanger may be a little much for us this trip. This will be the maiden voyage for the new Jeep, and it is completely unprotected. No rockrails or bumpers or skids. That being said, I'm game for whatever if you guys are willing AND QUALIFIED to be my damage-prevention spotters.

I'm also going down with a local friend and his parents, and may be running some stuff with them. I'm not entirely sure what they are planning.

My cell is 801-920-3044. Please call me if you want to set up a run! I'll try to be there at City Market, 9am on Saturday. I'll be driving a '98 with amazingly bright blue paint and 31" AT's on stock wheels.

Hopefully I'll see some of you there.

To those that did show, what a great weekend!! I had a first time jeeper in my rig and she couldn't be happier about the trip (well maybe the 4 hour delay of i-70 being closed from Georgetown to Vail...) For the first time in a while I had some rig damage (one broken shock , one exhaust pipe), but the weather was perfect and I couldn't have asked for better people to ride with.

To those that didn't show and said they would..... shame on you.

I wish I had read this thread before I left for Moab. We ended up going, and I also stayed at the riverside inn. I was in the Silver Cherokee, my two brothers were in yellow and green TJs. Talk about great weather!

Did one of you guys loose a steering box up on poison spider? I ran into a guy in carquest that had.

We ended up trying Pritchett Saturday around noon. One of my brothers broke his track bar on the first obstacle, so went and got another one and called it a day Saturday. Sunday we decided to attempt pritchett again.

Is it still called pritchett canyon or is it rock buggy canyon now? I haven't ran the trail for about 4-5 years and it has changed significantly! It is way harder than it once was. Our group all had 35" tires (one TJ had 37s), winches, low gears, lockets, etc.... and are fairly experienced drivers and it was very, very difficult. The only other vehicles we saw that day were rock buggies and a built to the hilt TJ with 60s, and extended wheel base, and 39" iroks (he avoided every difficult obstacle). We ended up winching up axle hill (or is it suicide hill?).

It was a lot of fun, but it might be a while before I do that trail again. I have a RE track bar joint that is popping like no other and will need to be replaced.

I will have to hook up with you guys next time!

We ran it at Spring Fling 2005, a group of about ten? No siginificant problems at all. Most had 35's but a couple of us were running 33's and of course Derek had his 32's but he doesnt count. :) I did everything but Rocker Knocker with a Detroit in the rear and limited (read unlimited) slip in the front. One of the funnest days of wheeling I have ever had!
