It's like the title says. I've always noticed the problem. Thought it was a piece of brake material in the drums. Replaced all brakes, they needed it anyways. While doing the back brakes, I rotated the rear wheels and still heard the noise. I ended up laying down under the jeep and rotated the driveshaft and traced the noise coming from the tailshaft of the transmission. BTW is a 89 laredo 4.0 auto transmission. Everything works perfect. Just concerns me. Any thoughts?

in both cases it was the u-joint cheap and easy fix

Chain stretch in the TC. Place your hand on the bottom of the TC and have someone rotate the wheel.
