just wondering how tight the bushing bolts are supposed to be for the stock sway bar links and upper front shocks? how far should the rubber be compressed? seems like they could be tightened until they pushed out if I wanted to tighten them that tight. thanks,Ben

My FSM states:
Sway bar link upper nut: 26 ftlbs
Sway bar link lower nut: 70 ftlbs
Upper shock nut: 16 ftlbs
Lower shock nuts: 17 ftlbs
Sway bar link upper nut: 26 ftlbs
Sway bar link lower nut: 70 ftlbs
Upper shock nut: 16 ftlbs
Lower shock nuts: 17 ftlbs

There is no torque spec for this type of installation,thats why they always use a lock-nut or jam-nut.Whether its sway bar links,shocks,struts. or even Ford radius arms the install is the same."tighten until the compressed diameter of the bushing equals the diameter of the bushing cup(washer)!
