Just picked up a '97 XJ (sport), was wondering if the rear bumper mounts/holes are the same configuration as my '89 XJ (Laredo).

no they arent the same, im not sure of the cutoff but i m sure they wont work

I'm actually about 99% sure they are the same. I'm using a 97+ Cherokee bumper on my 96- brackets and I know here people run aftermarket ones from 96- on their 97+.

The mounts are slightly different but the actual bumper will mount up to the mounts
