Has anyone ever seen a reliable factory spec on the Renix 4.0's correct idle speed. I just discovered that my Renix FSM and the Hayne's manual do not list the factory spec for the idle speed of a 4.0 Renix :banghead:

Per an old AMC service note I have, dated 10/87:

750 rpm, +/- 50 rpm, auto trans in park, manual in neutral, all accessories off.

That is what the Hanyes says for the V-6 too. Thanks.

My '88 FSM says the same 750 +/- 50 RPMs.

BTW: It was in the section about adjusting the idle speed screw under the little cap.

I thought you weren't supposed to mess with that idle screw. Am I wrong? I have a Renix that idles at the very first peg. It doesn't die, just a low, semi-rough idle.
