servicing leaf spring packs

i have an older rubicon 4.5 spring pack i want to service / rebuild. they are about 4 years old and are starting to creek and make a lot of noise. what i want to do is, pull the pack a part, clean the leafs, install new friction pads between them, new spring clamps, and center pins. i just dont know where to get the friction pads. anyone know where i could pick some up? is there any reason i shouldnt pull them apart and service them?

I rebuilt my spring pack. Got everything I needed at a local spring shop. Stuff was really cheap too. I think the friction pads cost like 25 cents a piece and the spring straps cost like 2 bucks. Just make sure to use new U-Bolts. Never Never reuse U-Bolts.
