Buddy just got his cj going so we thought a good mild trail might be in order. So we hit up storm mt off drake road. Sunny all morning got to the top pretty quick no problems at all. Played on the top loop for a bit. Then the clouds moved in and fast. Lightning and then the RAIN and I do men RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! came in fast and hard. We loaded up and headed down off the peak there. Parked in the tree cover before hitting the open area. Turned off the jeep had the windows cracked kicked back the seats and took a nap tell the rain and lightning broke up a bit. Man that isn't a hard trail by any means but it got muddy and fast slid down half of it I would say. No pics yet if any I didn't have a camera but the other guy did I'll have to check with him and see whats up. Just a heads up on a good mild trail up north here if you want to get the wife out driving the jeep on a good starter trail this is the one for it. Great view from the top aswell.

From Estes Park, CO take Hwy 34 east to the town of Drake. At Drake, take Devil's Gulch Road/43 Road northwest. Look for signs on the right pointing you to FR128/Cedar Park Road. This will lead you up to FR 153 and to the top of Storm Mtn.

Look here.........

Yeah, I work a bunch and do other stuff not so much.

I don't get out much :)

anyway I've been out of it for a few decades and figured a couple close, easy trails might be fun. Thanks!

Very easy trail it was me a guy in a built up CJ and a guy in a stock S-10 4 door blazer thing. Sure he hit and drug in a few places but never had to get out the strap for the guy.

O ya a stock XJ you will have no problems getting up there. One hint on getting to the top. after a hill climb you'll come to an open medow area with a fork in the road and the arrow points to the left but go right to get to the top of storm mt.

The few times I've ran it we do it in winter time so no not really if any at all. Thats when that trail is the most fun. deep snowpack and it takes for ever to bust all the way to the top. As of when we went up it. There was one bronco up there and one other jeep so 5 rigs on it the whole time we made it to the top and back down. O there were two guys on quads and on on a bike that was it.
