As things come together, we will need to start thinking about a logo for the Arizona Chapter. Something to be put on t'shirts, mugs etc.
Anyone out there any good with this type of stuff? I'm tinkering but I'm not very experienced at that kind of stuff.
Thought that maybe starting with Cafe Press to have shirts, mugs etc. I want to do some research on the quality of their products.
Any input here?

Hey Dave,
Thanks for the info and use of your logo. May use it for a starting point. I've heard that about CafePress but was hoping they had improved.

i don't have the skills to create it in paint, but how about the outline of az with the XJ grill in the center?
or something as simple as the naxja logo with the top of the "J" fading into a saguaro?
or a combination?

If it is a simple black and white or two color image it would be easy for me to cut on my vinyl plotter. I could make us all some inexpensive stickers.

Although we're not an official chapter yet, I don't think working on some type of graphics/logo is premature.
Black and white would work for bumper/window stickers. I'd like to see some color stuff for the eventual t'shirt production.
I've been working on a couple of things but I'm not real talented with some of the software I have and the learning curve is pretty steep.
Anyhow, hopefully someone steps up that has a little talent.
DaveO in Phoenix offered the AZXJ logo as a starting place and I'm playing around with that also!

I am not sure why I didnt think of this before, but I have a friend that is a VERY talented graphic designer dude. Not a jeeper, but thats ok. If you guys can send me some of you ideas, I can collect them and get together with him for a nice design.
BTW Jim, my wife says to say hi to your wife. She had fun talking to her the other night.

Well I have to go and join you guys I guess and change my name. I have recently realized I created my avatar with the same name as another arizona xj club that I didn’t even know existed. I wouldn’t want people to think I did that on purpose.
I just don’t know what to call myself now. It was hard enough getting that accepted during registration lol.
Everybody is using the state as a background. Here’s an example. Something different would be nice. I think the plain-looking, small decals look best. http://www.dakotacom.net/~jeepster/tipshades.gif

Steve, you can only change your name if you actually WHEEL that cherokee you SUPPOSEDLY have!!!!!!! LOL
Just kidding, I love that J20 jeep truck you have. It sure is ALOT MO PURDY than my black/Grey/Blue/rust colored XJ I run. LOL

Well I came up with a new name. You local guys will get it. It’s kind of fitting since I really don’t wheel my cherokee right now at the level of this group. I gotta use what I got just so I can hang.
I guess we’re going to have to have a meet and greet soon so I can show off my stock laredo and prove ownership, lol. http://www.dakotacom.net/~jeepster/tipshades.gif

I saw this AVATAR when surfing the BBS. I don't know if it was designed by JEEPZZ or he/she just found it somewhere. I think it would be fun to use in our logo/stickers. Any thoughts???

Guys and Girlz, I will be meeting with a friend of mine that does graphic design this week. If you can PM me the artwork you think would make a nice logo or part of a logo, I will be sure to make up several choices so we can vote on them.
I am kinda leaning towards the AZ state logo in the background and the name on the circle around it with a jeep pic in the middle. Simple, but ours. Anyway, I will be sure to post the designs we come up with to see what u all think.

Brian, sure appreciate you taking the initiative and stepping up to help out. I really think this is an important step in the formation of our chapter. I hope we hear something soon from National.
My poor attempts at putting something together are posted but I'm not happy with any of them.:conceited
If I can do anything to help, drop a line.

I’ve been searching for logos from other chapters and there seems to be some traditional aspects of club logo designs. Maybe there are some guidelines to follow. Here are a few I found so far. http://www.dakotacom.net/~jeepster/tipshades.gif

I saw the same thing Steve, there seems to be kinda a pattern going. I am kinda partial to the intermountain one with some minor changes to say the Arizona Chapter and also maybe the AZ State shape either inside the circle or the circle on the AZ state shape. Simple, but ours. Since this friend of mine is not a jeeper, and super busy, I am trying to make it really easy for him since it is Pro-Bono!!! LOL
And Jim, no need to thank me. I am just doing what I can to make this chapter a success, just like we ALL should be doing.
So, Lets GET-R-DONE!!!!!!!!:anon:
