I got my Posi-Lok in today. It has a switch on it that turns on the 4wd light on the dash. Only problem is I don't know where the switch is to splice into the wires. Can anyone help? It's an '87 4.0L Aw4 231.

Thanx,
Brad.

It turns it on when? Are you asking about the front?
If so follow the hose from the old vacuum unit the the old vacuum switch and connect it there.

Be sure to cap off the old vacuum lines also.

87 w/NP231? Look on the passenger side fenderwell, near the "football" tank and the blower fan motor. See if you can't locate a small (about 1" high by 1/2" across) cylindrical unit on a small sheetmetal bracket - it should have a vacuum line going into it (from the transfer case or front axle shift motor) and two wires coming out of it (which compleat the circuit for the 4WD mode indicator.)

(Langer beat me to it by mere seconds...)

Ok. Found what you guys were talking about. I capped off the vac. supply. The switch has 1 wire (black w/ yellow stripe) coming out to a bullet connector that plugs into 2 wires.

Do I run the wire from the Posi-Lok & put a bullet connector on it & plug it into the 2 wires?

And yes it's an '87 w/ a 231. My '84 has a 207 & my bro-in-laws has a 242.

Thanx for the help,
Brad.
