i have a #1 selenoid bad in a aw4 trans out of a cherokee 4x4. can i take the selnoids from a aw4 from a 2x4 cherokee???????

Yes, you can.

As I recall, a "good" solenoid should test 11-15 ohms between the terminal and the case.
