At the risk of sounding stupid...here goes. I have a 90 XJ that I bought about a month ago and just noticed something with the headlights. When I have the headlights on, then turn the ignition off the interior lights (gauges & etc) turn off but the Headlights don't. After the key is turned off if I turn the headlight button off (it's one of the push knobs), they stay on. Other people I have asked think it is a safety feature and they should turn off after X many minutes. Is that correct? I have an 03 TJ and it doesn't have that feature.

cool. thanks, I wanted to make sure it wasn't something signaling it would be going out. Like the other headlight questions I do alot of driving before and after the sun, so that would kind of suck not having them.

If you turn off the lights before turning off the ignition, you won't have to worry about that timer engauging.
