I've been trying to remove my tcase for about 3 hours now. I've almost got it, but one bolt is being a SOB. The very bottom one on the driver's side. It is covered in braketry for the linkage making it impossible to get it with a socket, or racheting wrench. It's already stripped a little bit so I'm scared to try using an open ended wrench. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get that linkage crap out of the way? It seems that bolt holds it all on so I'm not sure what else I can do...

Take the bracket off.

The bolt I can't get to is holding it on, otherwise I would have..
Think I'll just cut the nut off tomorrow. Well in about 4 hours when normal people aren't sleeping anymore.

I remember looking at the same issue you're dealing with right now, and IIRC the solution was friggin' simple once I looked back at it. I'll see if I can dig back through my notes and FSM...

That would be awesome. I don't really want to resort to the grinder.

I sprayed mine pretty heavily with some PB Blaster, before I could get mine to budge at all.

I think I remember using my ratchet box wrench. I remember struggling with it and finding an answer cause I didn't have to do anything extreme!!

I ended up cutting it off. Having other issues unrelated now. Those are explained in another thread
