hey, my transfer case was making alot of noise so i took the rear cover off ans a bunch of blue plastic pieces came out all broken up. does anybody know what this is? also is the iol pump housing supposed to have up and down play when i move the shaft that goes to the rear drive shaft up and down? i would take pics but my camera is still broken. i have a 94 cherokee with the 4.0 and manual trans i believe that the transfer case is the 231.

Blue....plastic? Rubber?
I'm pretty sure the stock RTV in mine was black, and unless I'm sorely mistaken the speedo gear would have to be pretty well torn up to get through the oil pump into the main body.
Do you have an SYE on there? The only blue piece I can think of is the speedometer adapter on my PORC SYE output shaft:

Take a look at http://www.yuccaman.com/jeep/porc_sye.html nd see if any of that looks familiar.

x2! Stock ones are blue as well.
Thats the only thing in a t-case that is blue that I can think of.
The stock speedo gear is built into the output shaft, so it would have to have an SYE to be that.
Those are the only things I can think of though.

Hmmm - I'll have to keep that in mind. I honestly can't remember even seeing the shift pads although I know I checked 'em when I did the PORC SYE.
