My Uncle and I are going to be heading up to Whistler for a few days on the 22nd. We're just going to bring my iPod instead of CD's this time for the drive.
So, I'm looking for some good driving music, what are a few of your favorite songs to listen to on your road trips?

die toten hosen

Surprised to hear them named here... Not a band I'd expect to have a huge following in the States. :D Ever heard the English version of 'Love, Peace, and Money'?

Back on track - I like a mix of stuff. Classical, '80s, New Wave, Heavy Metal, Industrial, Old-Skool Rap, Techno, Trance, Electronica - basically, I keep the iPod loaded up with a pretty eclectic mix of stuff so that I can switch around as my mood / the environment changes. I could name bands for ya, but have no idea what you're into so have no idea what to suggest.

Best thing I can say is load it up with a ton of stuff and organise your playlists first by genre, then by artist name. Makes it easy to say, 'I'm in a metal mood, gimme some Van Halen...' or similar.

On long drives I like to listen to Bob Seger, Waylon Jennings, Hank Jr, CCR, Cash, etc. Stuff that doesn't get me mashing the pedal too hard but doesn't lull me to sleep either.

Yeah, I already have about 6 or 7 of Dane's acts on my iPod so I've got that covered.

Thanks for the response guys, all good ones so far, keep 'em coming.

I have a Creative Zen Micro 5 gig mp3 player that I run through my system in my Jeep, It holds about 1000 songs, so it's great to shuffle through it all while you're heading out on a trip. I've got a good variety, pretty heavy on classic rock and rock in general. Favorite bands/artists: Zeppelin, Cream, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Soundgarden, STP, Allman Brothers, Phish, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Beatles, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young, CSN, Doors, Tom Petty, Tool, Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa, The who, ZZ top, Yardbirds, Johnny Cash, Bob marley, Deep purple, pearl Jam, the list goes on and on.
