One of my steering box bolts broke off (the bottom one) The other two are fine. Will this be bad in the near future possible breakage?? The box seems tight now

I believe they are approx 7/16" X 5" or so. I KNOW they are bigger than 3/8 yet smaller that 1/2" couse I tried those when looking for a scrap nut to weld on. They possibly are metric to... I swapped in one last night, but didnt measurer.

I had a broken bolt as well. I removed the box and spacer. Welded a scrap nut to the broken stud and removed it easily. Then remounted at all back up with another bolt I had from past vehicles.

definately fix it. Not too long ago, on the trail, we had a Jeep where all 3 bolts snapped. Six hours later, and a spare box, we were off the trail. Doesn't sound that bad, but when the bolts broke we were less than .25 miles from the end of the trail. We replaced the box with a trail spare that leaked horribly-but it worked long enough to get to the trailer.

I forgot to mention the spare box and the trailer were about 60 miles away!
