play in transfer case

i noticed last night when checking my u-joints my output shaft on my tcase rotates about 1/4 of a turn and clunks, is this normal or should i be looking into something deeper on this one! Thanks

Front or Rear output?

The fronts clunk like that when In 4wd all the time. If it is your rear, it may have a little wiggle, but not 1/4 turn.

it is on the rear, but it was jacked up to check the ujoints....? Just had some weird revving at highway speeds and want to make sure that my tcase isnt going out on me or something else i need to check!
