have have a 96 xj w/ a dana 35 that pulled aprt now problem.... the c-clips were on the inside of the spider gear, but now im tryin to pull apart a dana 35 out of a 89 xj to use the carrier w/ 4.10 gears, and i cant figuer out how to pull the axle shafts... any help with this matter will be greatly apreciated

thanks brad

IIRC, the '89 D35's used NON C clip axles. There is a conical(sp?) cone type berring, with a berring retainer plate held on with 4 bolts to the backing plate area, holding the axle in. Remove those, and the axle should slide out.

You may want to use the spider gears from non C clip axle, the other ones from the '89 may not work with the C clip axles.

Why not just use the complete '89 rear end?

The axle shafts won't just slide out. Hit the wheel flanges with a hammer (point of force driving the axle away from the differential) and they will pop out easily.
