4cyl life span?

ok i have about 120k miles on my 4 cyl now. i know it is nearing the rebuilding time. as i start looking for rebuild kits, and hear how crummy the tranny is (its gonna go soon too, it grinds too often shifting into 3rd). I wonder what would be the posiablity of swapping out the whole driveline from the engine to the axles? right now it is a 4x2 SE. would it be cheaper to find a new XJ?

I'd say it will last a little longer.



1986 2.5L TBI. Haven't changed much more than a couple of sensors.

my dads just hit 361k, 2 clutches, few sensors, 1 head gasket and 91 oil changes later....
