interested in drive shaft lengths

is a 4cyl xj drive shaft longer than a inline 6cyl drive shaft if so how much longer and does it use the same universal joints:dunno:

That will depend on whether auto or stick or 2 or 4wd or XJ or MJ (which has the longest) but most use the same Ujoints.

I have a 4.5 rubicon express want to do a longer shaft but if there a different type shafts i would like to like to find one about 3/4 of an inch up to 1 1/4 inches longer than my shaft which is a auto tranny inline six engine do not want a slip yoke kit

My parts jeep is a 2.5L, AW4 & a 231. The rear shaft is quite a bit longer than the stock shaft from my 96. Might be hard to find one. JIM.
