Well were going to try it again. Here's some pics of today at the turn off of Bald Mtn and Dinkey Creek Rd. Needless to say we only got about 50 feet in. The snow was too fresh, didn't pack very well. We had some fun anyway.

A lot of my family and friends who are going, want to mainly just play in the snow. Pretty disturbing huh, anyway Matt sounds like you have a group that wants to mainly wheel. In reguard to my expierence on Sat the 22nd. There was plenty of snow to play in for both kids and our rigs :) .

There is plenty of time before the 1st. I know I'll be bringing up some Hot Chocolate  . I'm thinking we can meet at the market at Auberry Rd./ 168 @ 9am. Then leave around 9:30am for the snow. Get some snow toys and warm clothes, and a [b:4faa5ef203]tow strap[/b:4faa5ef203]!

I would like to be at the head no later than 10. Cuz if we get stuck, I dont want to spend the night again. I have some more people coming from hunington that are going to meet us in shaver at the turn off. I think everyone should come whether it is your first snow run or not, it will be fun.

Hehe, somehow I don't think you can make it to the top in the winter. :)
Do you guys just play around on Rock Creek Road?

My group will have mostly families who want to mainly play in the snow. Matt's(aka. scrappydak) group sounds like they want to get there rigs stuck in the snow . There's tons of places to play around on. Shaver Lk. has been between 9-12 degress at night. brrrrr! So there might be Ice on the lake to play on as well.

Well, it sounds like then well all meet at 9, say hi, leave no later than 9:30, and be in shaver around 10. If no one really wants to go wheeling, I will also bring my skis and get a half day of skiing in. :D

SO 9-9:30 anyone who wants to come shows up, than we be in shaver at 10? Sound good?

Take the new freeway, East on 168. Drive until you see a Cheveron station on the left, or

take Willow Ave north until you reach Copper, then turn right onto Copper, then turn left onto Auberry Rd. Then take Auberry Rd. until you reach the Market and Cheveron station/ Foster Freeze. You can't miss it.

Call me if you have any questions (559)243-1874 , I should be home after 6pm.

New news. The people that are coming with me, if I get my work done, all think we can go on rock creek road all the way out to 168. We are checking conditions tommarow to see if the weather will be good. If it is bad, we might go to either Fresno Dome or Molina. Hopefully we can go to Rock Creek RD.

We will still be meeting everyone at the 168/Auberry RD. Fork @ 9. Some friends of mine are working on getting some info on the conditions up there. There was mention of Blue Rock Canyon, I haven't been there, but that might be where were headed.

We had a great time! I admit we were a bit late at the 168/Auberry turn off. Then we headed for a campground, blue canyon something, at the top of the four-lane, down Tollhouse RD, then on Perterson. The snow there was really crunchy :( , so we decided to go up to Rock Creek RD, the fire road to the Bald Mtn. trail head. There we found a packed down trail, a lot better than last time. Took a ride down that way for awhile. Then played in the best snow I ever played in. It was soft and sticky, just perfect for snowman buliding and snow balls. Did I say we had a good time? There was plenty of snow there, enough for this coming weekend too.
