I went searching over the weekend for information on the Coolant Temp Sensor for my '92 so I can check to see if it's the source of my horrible mileage (2" and 30s, properly calibrated speedo and I'm getting 11mpg).

After striking out in both my FSM and my Haynes, I found what I was looking for in a link found in an old thread here, and printed it out. Soon as I get a little time where (a) I'm at home, and (b) it's not raining, I intend to have at it with the multimeter.

What strikes me as odd is that I didn't find this information in the FSM - I went through the chapter on cooling twice, but didn't see it. I also checked the emissions section. Did I miss it, or is it really not there?

It's in Fuel System. Fuel System General Diagnosis has the resistance chart, shared with the MAT sensor.

Sneaky bastards. The least they could have done was cross-reference it. I wouldn't have thought to look there, but now that you have pointed it out, it makes sense, in some strange way. It's almost as if you need a manual for the manual. :banghead:

The only thing they mention in the cooling section is the sender for the gauge.

Thanks for the tip.
