T-case parking brake

Not sure what you mean, are you talking about one like they put the M151's ?

i see little support for the 231 application, some say the trans tunnel is too small?
If you figure something out, that would be a big hit

I've seen it done with a strap, the ebrake handle when pulled up tightens the strap around the output shaft. Down side is if you are moving they tend to break if you apply it, you generally have to be stopped.

I think land cruisers have a ebrake on the tail housing, not disk though.

All Pro Offroad makes a kit for 'Yotas that you can see here:

The problem appears to be how you adapt the disc to the transfer case output. Looks like 'yotas have a bolt on adapter to the rear shaft, so machining a rotor to fit a gm passenger car caliper and fabbing some brackets is easy. Even with an SYE there doesn't appear to be any way to do it inexpensively. You'd have to figure out how to mount the disc with a some sort of yoke adapter. Not impossible, just looks expensive. All Pro sells the parts separately for custom jobs.

I spoke to the guy that developed this transfer case disc brake for Land Rovers.

http://www.x-eng.co.uk/X-Brake.asp?MID=31

He is considering developing one for Wranglers but does not currently have a Wrangler to use to develop a prototype. He was prepared to sell me just the components I needed from his Land Rover kit if I wanted to make one myself.

Has anyone considered adapting an "early" rear disk setup to the tailshaft? You know - the ones that were a brake disc with a small "drum" in the hat - you could probably hack off the "disk" part and keep the small drum, and trip it mecahnically...

Just a passing thought. Not sure if it's any good, but I thought I'd toss my hat in the ring...

5-90

I have thought of alot, like 4wheeler discs and skinny rear discs.
It would be the least of the problems.
Im going to attempt it, when I get my JB supershort SYE
The big problem is mounting the caliper somewhere
The 231 seems to make this as hard as possible with the back half of the case so far away from an usable bolts.
I cant really do any more research/thought until i have a case in front of me
