I dont think an xj would be the best choice for a snow plow

I take it you don't go where there is snow very much. There are cherokees all over here with plows on them. If I had the extra money I would get another cherokee and get a plow. It would pay for itself in one winter.

The downside of a plow on an XJ is they overheat, not while plowing but when the plow is up going between jobs where you may drive 8-10 miles they overheat even with a good cooling system, most of the plow systems I've seen for them put the blade too close to the bumper when it's raised, maybe if it was out another 2ft or so..

Good point Rich. The couple plow jeeps that I seen are setup a little different. They have brackets that extend the plow out an extra 20" and also have replaced the standard fans with dual flexalite fans and high flow water pumps. They say that their temps never go over 220. These are not DD and only are driven when needed to plow. I think I might have to stop there tomorrow and talk some more.
