Gear swap

I have a 99 xj with the standard dana 30 in it with 3.55 gears and i'm gonna change them to 4.11's i have a buddy that has a 95 YJ with a good set of 4.11's out of his Jeep that he is willing to give to me..The question i have is the carrier the same as the one i have other than size???I guess what i really need to know is the axle spline the same?His dana 30 is a disco type and mine is not..

You can always just use your differential gears if his are different.

Reverse rotation 30. you need his carrier, yours wont work. if he does have the 3.73+ carrier. both 27 spline so yea you can use your spiders in his carrier, or keep yours for spares
