Fan clutch torque spec?

I'm about to replace the fan clutch on my '96 4.0 XJ. I got one from Napa.

Do I need to torque the nuts down to a certain specification? Or will good and tight work?

I usually use "German torque" - gutentite.

You should make some small effort to tighten them evenly, and I'm fairly sure there's a specification (more for consistency than anything else, I'm also fairly sure...) but I don't recall what it is offhand.

Every nut and bolt on any car has a torque spec. Heck, there's a torque spec for the oil pan drain plug. 98% of the time, gutentite works fine and the torque specs are just a PITA with the potential to cause excessive wear and tear on a VERY expensive tool.

Heck, I have no idea how you'd even get a torque wrench on the fan clutch bolts.

Well I just finished. Didnt even have to move the radiator one bit. In fact I didnt even have to remove the fan guard, just loosen it.

Very easy job.
