I finally got my new (to me) bike home.

It's a 2001 Suzuki Katana 750 with a RS3 yoshimura full pipe. Picked it up from a family member for 3k. The bike has 6800 miles on it. I need to replace the front blinker lense because it's cracked but I was going to replace it with the clear ones anyway. Also I'm getting a smoke colored winshield for it.

Well it's no crotch rocket. See that extra seat there?

Good beginner bike though. You'll trade it in 6 months.

What makes you say that? Their two very different kinds of bikes. This is a sport touring bike. I have a sportier ride thats a bit more comphy.

Plus who cares so long as I'm happy with it? This bike is amazing.

Never was much of a fan of the can-of-tuna.

But I'd rock a Bandit 1200S any day of the week ;)

But hey, if you like it that's all that matters.

I remember the first time I saw the original K'tana...

Thought it was so frickin futuristic...

I later wound up addicted to GSXR's...

including two '87's...

One for track duty with a 750 bored out to 907 with Yoshimura Tornado bodywork by airtech and another 750 with an 1100 engine...

one wrecked...

the other stolen...

I'm holding out for a Duc nowadays...

I really really wanted a monster. I would have got an 07 monster 695 but then I found this for so cheap. Monster will be the next one.

Just be careful. I do not miss mine one bit. We were at breakfast over the weekend and about 15 sportbikes rolled in and came in for a tall stack. I love the sportbikes but after my get off I'm just too scared of them. I'm OK with being a sissy. All I have to do is look at the wonderful scar on my knee.

I NEVER had anything less on during any of my rides. That's the one thing I was responsible about. Leathers, boots, gloves, helmet, lots of kevlar. In my Jeep I never speed. In fact, people tell me I drive like an old lady. I usually always have a good cup of coffee, and mellow tunes so I never have a reason to speed. On the bike it was just much easier. When I went down I was riding WAY over my head. After I healed up I rode a fair amount but I couldn't ever get over it. I rode under the speed limit after the accident but still I would freak out sometimes and tense up. My last ride was bad enough that I was going straight and just about crapped myself. I don't even know why. Nothing happened. I stopped for a while and limped home and then listed everything I had that night. I still look at EVERY bike I see...doesn't matter what it is. I wish I could ride but it scares me too much. I've yet to hook into a fish that had the same effect. :) I just keep on pushin' on though.

I dunno...

I think there's a biker gene that some of us inherit...

My dad used to ride...

I was named after a biker bud of his...

I've had some serious wipeouts on the track and street...

and lost 2 good friends to bike mishaps.

but if there was a running bike in my stable...

I'd ride constantly.

And this children is what happens when you breed the biker gene with the Jeeper gene.

I totally agree Gil. I just don't have it. I thought I would though with all of my experience with 2 wheels and NO motor. Not sure of the difference.

I was riding a 250 and then moved up to a 400 motard. The motard is what I crashed on.

Take the front fairing off add the suzuki sv650 headlight kit and the bike would be way cooler.... No offense tho but the Katana SUCKS!

What makes you say that? I've heard nothing but great things about them. Plus there is a huge fanbase with tons of forums just like NAXJA.

btw you can't just take fairing off another bike and move it on over you know... The demensions for the sv are way different from the kat750.
