Putting in new tie rods and drag link with rod ends, finish putting touchs on trailer. I have two xjs to haul out from Tenn. Mine and the raffle xj. I bent my steering way out of whack last June when we were in Moab.

I jsut realized that I gotta change the diff fluid and put in the synth into the rear axle as I'm going to be towing a camper trailer........ the 80~140 is a PITA to get into the diff as it barely flows in that damn pump gismo....

My daughter's getting married on the 11th. Between the expense and the rotten timing, I got hosed. Hoist a cold one fer me, will ya? I'll definitely be thinking of you folks while I'm sweltering in a tux.

Kejtar
August 14th, 2003, 15:19
man........ you should have told your daughter that her timing is off :) We have advertised the date for almost 2 years now :)

Tucker
August 14th, 2003, 15:30
I fought hard to change the date ... his family and some of ours have other conflicts and I lost the battle.

CHW and I are headed out in 43 days. :D

He's got some major axle/gear stuff planned - I survived our last little outing at Rausch Creek with no issues and am shifting into maintenance mode on RED for the duration. After last year's little surprise on Route 80, I ain't taking anymore chances about getting out there this year!!

beaf up the tie rod, and get an alignment, and put the rear
bushwhacker flares back on.

Man, I had better get started soon!

Door rust is up by the mirror. I hope I don't have to redo it up there after Moab. All the painting I want/need to do is for rust prevention, not to win the show and shine.

The last show and shine I entered was the morning after the last time I went looking for a big section of mud to repeatedly run through. Needless to say, I didn't place :D .

jeeze! some of you complain about a mere weeknd's worth of work!

gotta design and build an entire front and rear suspension, on all new frame and axle brackets. install new steering, modify driveshafts, design and byild a new crossmember, skidplate, re-route new exhuast, brakelines, fuel lines, adapt e-brake cables on new bracket, add a few more tubes to the rollcage, and other various odds and ends......

and bones is compaining about door rust!

Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.....

My 7way plug comes off with 2 screws, and normally lives in the onboard toolbox when not towing. I have 2 4wire flat connectors, 1 from a T-tap style interface, and 1 that is custom wired for trailer brakes and 12V.

When it's off, there is nothing hanging down.

I think everybody should jump in here and say something to Beezil about remembering to have his mom weld everything :firedevil

The funny thing is that you all don't realize that his sister is the best welder in the family.

Well Mr. "my welds always hold", you posted spobi and we can't have king spobi monitor being hypocritical now can we????? We can go deeper into this black pit if'n you'd like.

Wow... I just realized that with the news springs I got.... my list got longer.... new shims have to go in, shock mounts have to be cut of and rewelded as I got nil down travel...... and I still was not really able to make any serious dent in the original list.... Time sure flies....
