I just rebuilt my rear dana 44 and installed it in my jeep. i drove it about 50 miles and the seals are leaking. i put on a rockcrusher diff cover with the high fill hole. would that cause the seals to leak because there is too much fulid in the axle.
thanks brian

What do you mean by rebuilt? Did that include axle seals and bearings? If so then the axle shaft itself might have a nick on it and even with new seals it can leak by. Happened to me when I first got my MJ, had to buy new shafts( good time and excuse to buy alloys!:)

I'm thinking about the Rockcrusher too. The fill hole is really high so the level of the fluid would constantly be above the seals, instead of occasionally during off camber situations.

I had to put sealent on the outer part of the outer seal to keep it from leaking. It's been fine over a year now.
