Just had engine mounts and brackets replaced and now my tach, speed and fuel gauges are going crazy. They will work just fine for awhile and then jump all around and the low fuel lite comes on. Usually after going over rough terrain or bump. Anyone have this problem?

Sometimes my tach & speedo just die after a good bump. Also the airbag light comes on. I had this fixed once. It was a loose wire on the back of the instrument panel. I guess I'll have to pull it off and check the connection. BTW, I've got a '98.

My 98 does the same thing . . . especially when it is humid. I have no idea how to take the dash apart . . . need to fix the fog light switch as well. Worked sporatically for a month, but now it doesn't work at all.
Just two of the myriad annoyances on my XJ.

Perhaps in replacing the motor mounts the shop removed the ground between the block and the chassis, and didn't replace it.
