Hello guys, Iam new to the fourm, got my first jeep last week Iam searching for info, I got a 90xj and the problem Iam having is in between shifts? When the rigs in neutral its quiet, put it in 1st quiet, go to 2,3,4,5th and into reverse it sounds like something is lose and floppin around inside the trans, once the clutch grabs the gear its quiet and the shifting is smooth no binding, its just that gap in between shifts when the noise happens?

Is there a common problem with trannys or t-cases that this may be a symptom of? I thought throw out bearing? As hard or simple as it might be thanks for any info on this problem.

is there noise when you push in the clutch?

if there is, it would be the clutch bearing.

I would think you might have a bad brearing or two on one of you shafts inside the tranny.
